Material & Quality of Level8 Luggage
The suitcase arrived in a dust-proof bag inside thick cardboard packaging. It was well-protected and arrived in perfect condition.
The suitcases are made of German Bayer Makrolon® Polycarbonate Hard Shell, a material designed for durability.
The integrated handle extends smoothly and has four adjustable heights. The handles feel sturdy, not “wobbly” in any way.
The zippers and seams are neatly finished and easy to open.
The suitcase doesn’t require an extra padlock as it has a built-in TSA-approved combination lock. This allows airport security to inspect the contents without damage.
What I truly enjoy are the quiet 360° spinner wheels. According to Level8, the 8 spinner wheels per suitcase show minor wear even after frequent use.
I can attest to it, because I own a different Level8 case set, and after 6 international flights, they are like new.
My prior carry-on luggage had normal wheels, and they were extremely loud. People were staring at me when I was passing by. I’m not exaggerating.
That’s why I love the silent spinner wheels on my Level8 luggage.

Interior Space
The Luminous Textured Carry-On 20″’s interior is well-organized and fully lined. One side has two large zippered pockets for accessories and a spacious compartment for clothes. The inner mesh is breathable.
The other side has a breathable mesh with one zipper. No more clothes and shoes falling out of the carry-on when opening it. This is a huge plus. My former suitcase didn’t have this feature, and whenever I opened it up, something fell out.
The Textured Carry-On 20’’ differs in that it has no dedicated shoe compartment and lacks a front handle. Its telescopic handle is standard-width, unlike the larger Voyageur’s extra-wide version.
Design & Color Options
Level8 cases are stylish, high-quality, and feature a discreet logo on the front and wheels. The suitcase has a matte finish.
My suitcase is in the trend color olivine, but they come in black, blue, rose pink, and gray.
Beyond suitcases, Level8 also sells backpacks and accessories.
Real-World Testing
I didn’t test the Luminous Textured Carry-On a lot, as I just received it, but I have the Level8 Voyageur set, and I want to give you an overview of how this luggage looks and performs after giving it a hard time.

After putting our Level8 Voyager set through six flights and multiple road trips, here’s how it performed:
The spinner wheels showed no signs of wear. They rolled smoothly across every surface we encountered, from airport carpets to cobblestone streets, and wooden piers in the Maldives.
Like all hard-shell luggage, we noticed some minor surface scratches after extended use, but the textured finish kept them far less visible than on glossy polycarbonate cases.

If you’re looking for a durable carry-on suitcase, I highly recommend the Luminous Textured Carry-On 20”. It is ideal if you want a scratch-resistant, perfectly organizable, and lightweight suitcase.

The only downside is that the suitcase is slightly too large for budget airlines including Ryanair to use as a carry-on.
