After <strong>15 minutes<\/strong> we finally arrive. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"tw-data-text tw-ta tw-text-small\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"\u00dcbersetzung\"><span lang=\"en\">The staff at the AM Lodge are already awaiting us with a warm welcome from manager <del>Shaun Boyd<\/del>, as well as the AM team. By calling the reception I am picked up whenever I want to to get back to the main building.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"tw-data-text tw-ta tw-text-small\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"\u00dcbersetzung\"><span lang=\"en\">Since the individual lodges are distributed in the area and I am in the middle of the African bush, a walk back to the main building isn&#8217;t possible. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"tw-data-text tw-ta tw-text-small\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"\u00dcbersetzung\"><span lang=\"en\">And if I&#8217;m quite honest I wouldn&#8217;t have found my way back. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"tw-data-text tw-ta tw-text-small\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"\u00dcbersetzung\"><span lang=\"en\">The intricate paths and dense vegetation make an orientation almost impossible. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"tw-data-text tw-ta tw-text-small\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"\u00dcbersetzung\"><span lang=\"en\">As much as I love animals; I would&#8217;t like to meet any of the wild animals while walking around&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"tw-data-text tw-ta tw-text-small\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"\u00dcbersetzung\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"100_Privacy_%E2%80%93_Superior_Suite_Lodge_with_Private_Pool\"><\/span><span lang=\"en\">100% Privacy &#8211; Superior Suite (Lodge) with Private Pool <\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"tw-data-text tw-ta tw-text-small\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"\u00dcbersetzung\"><span lang=\"en\">How awesome. After all the others are\u00a0collected from their suites too, we meet at the main building. In\u00a0two large jeeps we drive along\u00a0the huge area of \u200b\u200bthe AM Lodge. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"tw-data-text tw-ta tw-text-small\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"\u00dcbersetzung\"><span lang=\"en\">Already after 5 minutes I see for the first time in my life <strong>Kudus<\/strong>. Shortly afterwards followed by <strong>giraffes<\/strong> and a herd of <strong>buffalos<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"tw-data-text tw-ta tw-text-small\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"\u00dcbersetzung\"><span lang=\"en\">As the sun sets\u00a0over the Drakensberg\u00a0mountains, we hear a <strong>leopard<\/strong>\u00a0screaming\u00a0close by.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"tw-data-text tw-ta tw-text-small\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"\u00dcbersetzung\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-8642\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cityseacountry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/fullsizeoutput_1169-e1492021343930.jpeg\" alt=\"Luxury Safari in South Africa: giraffe during an evening game drive\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It feels like being in the Disney movie: The Lion King.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tw-data-text tw-ta tw-text-small\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"\u00dcbersetzung\"><span lang=\"en\">In the darkness our tracker searches the terrain with the use of big lights. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"tw-data-text tw-ta tw-text-small\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"\u00dcbersetzung\"><span lang=\"en\">Soon afterwards a <strong>lion<\/strong> walks along the path in front of us. He emerges from nowhere and disappears again soon. A little later we meet him again. A &#8220;table&#8221; is built on the hood. There are South African wine, beer and anti-alcoholic drinks and snacks. With a bottle of beer in my hand, I listen to the explanations of the constellations. From <strong>Nelspruit airport<\/strong> you can reach the AM Lodge in about 2 hours.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"tw-target-text\" class=\"tw-data-text tw-ta tw-text-small\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"\u00dcbersetzung\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Mosquitos\"><\/span><strong><span lang=\"en\">Mosquitos?<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"tw-data-text tw-ta tw-text-small\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"\u00dcbersetzung\"><span lang=\"en\">During my stay\u00a0at\u00a0the AM Lodge at the end of March, I haven&#8217;t seen any mosquitos. In the lodge nor\u00a0the bedroom were any mosquitos at this time of the year. During the Game Drives \/ Safari, flies and beetles are annoying, especially near water and close to the wild animals. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tw-data-text tw-ta tw-text-small\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"\u00dcbersetzung\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Length_of_stay\"><\/span><span lang=\"en\"><strong>Length\u00a0of stay:<\/strong> <\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"tw-data-text tw-ta tw-text-small\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"\u00dcbersetzung\"><span lang=\"en\"><strong>At least 3 days<\/strong> to have enough time for the GameDrives, to enjoy the suite as well as spa treatments. My preferred length\u00a0of stay: 5 days.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"tw-target-text\" class=\"tw-data-text tw-ta tw-text-small\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"\u00dcbersetzung\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Luxury_lodge_of_a_special_kind\"><\/span><span lang=\"en\">Luxury lodge of a special kind: <\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"tw-data-text tw-ta tw-text-small\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"\u00dcbersetzung\"><span lang=\"en\">The AM Lodge in the Klaserie region at the edge of the Kruger National Park specializes in luxury safari as well as luxurious spa treatments. In 2016 the AM Lodge won the <strong>World Luxury Spa Award<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<\/span><span lang=\"en\">In 2017 the spa is again nominated for the World Luxury Spa Award.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tw-data-text tw-ta tw-text-small\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"\u00dcbersetzung\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Food_at_the_Safari_Lodge\"><\/span><strong>Food at the Safari Lodge<br \/>\n<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"tw-data-text tw-ta tw-text-small\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"\u00dcbersetzung\">The food at the AM Lodge is delicious. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served as a buffet. I had vegetarian and vegan food. The fruits and food are fresh; the African cuisine is very tasty. One night we had a <strong>Boma dinner<\/strong>, I can highly recommend. It&#8217;s a barbecue with African food, accompanied by local African dancers\/singers.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"tw-data-text tw-ta tw-text-small\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"\u00dcbersetzung\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Price_for_the_AM_Lodge\"><\/span><span lang=\"en\"><strong>Price for the AM Lodge:<\/strong> <\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"tw-data-text tw-ta tw-text-small\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"\u00dcbersetzung\"><span lang=\"en\">I stayed in the <strong>superior suite<\/strong>.
